Gympo is a training app. This document describes what data it collects, why, and who it is shared with. It is written to match what the app actually does.
Signing in is optional. Without it, the account is created anonymously and your workouts, food log and weight live only on your phone. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email and keep a backup of your data so it is not lost when you change phones. We do not sell data, show ads, or embed analytics trackers.
Without signing in, this data is never sent anywhere, and deleting the app erases it along with the app.
If you sign in, Apple or Google gives us:
We never see your password and never post anything on your behalf.
After you sign in, a copy of the data listed above — profile, name, profile photo, workout history, food diary, check-ins, weigh-ins and settings — is stored on our server. It updates automatically when your data changes and exists for one purpose only: so that everything is restored when you sign in on a new phone. Without signing in, no backup is made.
Your conversation with the AI coach. Your messages and the coach's replies are stored in a database so the dialogue is not lost between app launches.
Profile data — at the moment you ask the coach. So that advice is meaningful, a short summary is sent with your question: name, age, sex, height, weight, goal, level, schedule, the injuries you listed (including those you described in your own words), your latest check-in and your last few workouts. This summary is used to produce the answer and is not stored separately from the conversation.
Food photos. If you use the photo calorie estimate, the picture is sent to our server and on to the recognition service. Food photos are not stored — not on our server and not in the database. Once the answer comes back, the picture ceases to exist.
Usage counters. For every AI request we record the number of tokens spent and the model name. The content of the request is not part of that record.
Reports. If you report a coach's reply, the text of that reply is stored separately so we can look into it and correct the AI's behaviour.
Workout and missed-day reminders are created and shown by the phone itself. Nothing is sent to a server for them.
If you allow notifications, the phone sends our server its notification address (push token), the app language, your gender, where you train and whether you agreed to news. This lets Gympo tips and news reach only those who agreed to them, in their language. Notifications are delivered by Expo and Apple. You can turn off news in the app's settings, and all notifications in iPhone Settings.
Nobody else. There are no ad networks and no analytics SDKs in the app.
The app has a "Delete account and all data" button — Settings → Data. It deletes:
This cannot be undone, and we cannot recover what has been deleted.
The app is not intended for children under 13 and deliberately does not collect data about them.
Gympo builds training plans for informational purposes. This is not medical advice and not a substitute for consulting a doctor. Calorie calculations, protein targets and projected metrics are formula-based estimates, not a diagnosis and not a promise of results.
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the document will be updated. We will announce significant changes in the app.
